EC1260 or EC168C?

I have recently bought reliance BB+ plan ( Huawie 1260). I was told by the sales guy that both models are same so I went for 1260. But since day one, its behaving vaguely. First of all, when i plugin and try to connect, error comes that device not found, though the drive appears in explorer. then I select autoplay, and it works fine. Another thing is everytime I plugin, it installs the driver which is annoying.It looks like 1260 is in beta stage. Does anyone is facing such problems? I am using HP pavillion 2000 with XP
