Doubt regarding broadband charges

Hi all,I am using the BSNL broadband 250 plan. My download limit is 1GB.1.What exactly is a download limit?2.How much will i be charged if i exceed this limit?3.Will I be charged any memory space when my modem is just switched on and am not viewing any pages?

im also a new bsnl user....and at shock:ashamed: 2 see my broadband bills quoting 5000 buks for last 2 months....

i am also using the same plan HOME-250...
BSNL people say i downloaded a lot.. but i know i didnt...
what shud i do now???:wall: i have no idea...

ive filed a complained...i went for disconnection... they sya clear the bills(the BIG BBBIIILLLLLL) first...:madness:

Actually its not download limit its total traffic limit.It includes all - surfing, downloading and uploading.You can see the values by double clicking your connection icon (located near clock) or use some data counting meter.2. When your traffic goes more than 1gb additional - 90paise per mb.3. No. But you ll have to be sure that no transfer is taking place. Data transfer can take place without your knowledge in following cases- spyware infection, torrent client, windows update, anti virus update.avoid this and switch on your modem only when you require connection. This is good 4 modem too.Hope i m clear.
