guys i think this is a serious problem every now and then this is happening like in 15mins or so . open dns is also not working no site would open ! no ping response ! should i format my pc or get my modem replaced ? what could be the problem ? Diagnostics test is fine !

Just traceroute different IPs and see if they all hang up on the same hop. Also see if you are getting contant latencies in pinging different sites( should be less than 400 ms most of the time). It looks like your connection is having problem.

should i format my pc
Don't rush.
get my modem replaced ?
depends on line conditions.
Check your modem adsl status where you get snr and attenuation data.
SNR >10 and attn preferably 10 to 30 .
What is your modem make ?

Try the LAN port and/or "always on"
What is the modem Beetel number. seems the firmware is old.

from Welcome to Beetel Modems.
compare with mine http://i23.tinypic.com/xgkx6u.jpg
Speed snr/attn figures are Ok.

Para two :
Presume you open the modem page 192.168.1.1/main.html to access diagnostics etc
action now :See this and select bitswap also. ( no idea how this helps !)
