I'm done with my router setup(doing it for my friend).

Followed your instruction essbebe, the configuration is simple as follows

1. Used an RJ45 ethernet cable from BSNL router to the new airlink router, connected it to the one of the Ethernet port and not to WAN port.
2. Configured the airlink router like the below image
http://www.bagthatpic.com/images/0071/HSf57418.jpg

Restarted the router, and was able to connect to Internet.

Thanks for the support.

My posting in 6. Idea "lifted" from @netfreak. in this forum , I remember reading it in another thread. Let us not go into theory now. Happy everything is fine now.
To connect to WAN port to work , again will involve lot of resettings. Leave it alone.
2.Instead of connecting to the WAN port of Airlink, , connect RJ45 from modem to Airlink Lan port.
Airlink does not have an ADSL2 modem.

Hi, I'm having the UT300R2U Modem with 256UL Plan. I have set the always on connection in I have set the username and password in modem itself.I heard that open DNS is some better that BSNL default DNS. So I want to set Open DNS address in Modem itself. Please provide the detailed steps on how setup Open DNS on my modem setting page.Thanks.

go to modem page (http : // 192.168.1.1) ?login with username /password (admin/admin?)Click on Advanced setup Click on DNSRemove the checkbox on the right, and manually enter the IPs in two rows208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

In some modems you might also have to "save all" and reboot the modem for the new setting to take effect.
