I've read this on many other forums and thought it might be useful for people playing with the router configurations. Apparently with the factory default router firmware , whenever you Reboot from the router configuration page, to save and apply settings, you must wait till the modem has successfully rebooted, and both ADSL and Ehternet/USB Links are established. If you try to open any link on the configuration page or reload/reopen the page while the reboot is still not complete, the modem goes kaput. The problem with upgrading the firmware is that there are multiple upgrades floating around, most with region specific application and the D-Link support is quitevague on the issue.

yeah, right...also, the safest bet is ALWAYS use IE (Internet Explorer) for anything u do in the router/modem...i don't know what relation it has, but it sure has some relation with it...atleast IE is useful somewhere :pand whenever u restart the modem, DON'T do anything till IE is refreshed to the "home" page of the router...

IE is not useful. its the fault of the developers that they test their applications only in IE. Firefox should change it now though... the new IE looks ubercool though it resembles Firefox to me :)
