Hotstar has woken up to the realisation that they need to do something before they continue to bleed more subscribers. First, the IPL Loss and now WB's deal is going to expire soon. So what did they do? Rewrote the entire website from scratch.

For the first time in Hotstar's history, the play now button on a TV show page doesn't point to the first episode if you have already seen a few episodes.

What version is the app and what platform? I still see the old way on Shield. I didn't have any play button issue on the apps but the website didn't update sometimes even after watching an episode till end.

This is the website. For me, both the app and website have newer interface.

I tried this UI back in December when it was termed as Hotstar X for Android TV. The interface is fluid compared to earlier builds. Lets wait for the stable built to roll out for everyone.

If you want to use Hotstar's new website, you can use the Cookie-Editor extension on your browser.

Open the Hotstar website and use the cookie editor to see If the cookie x_migration_exp is present. If yes, change its value to true and reload the website. If the cookie is not present, you can create it. It should work.
