no you dont need to buy anything else.. if you choose an 8mbps plan , airtel would automatically sync you to 8mbps , then the line rate would show 8mbps..
I've got the same problems as the OP, but mine started after I changed my router to a D-Link after my first Billion router got fried in a lightning storm. It seems the dlink can't handle heavy torrenting....
