DigitalOcean Updates

Introducing Updates for Load Balancers

In February 2017, we launched Load Balancers, our highly available and managed load balancing service. Thousands of users rely on them to distribute traffic across Web and application servers.

Today, we’re announcing significant upgrades to Load Balancers, including Let's Encrypt integration and HTTP/2 support. All users now have access to these features at no additional cost and with no action required. In fact, all existing Load Balancers already have been upgraded.

Premium AMD Droplets are now available in six additional datacenters

Earlier this year, we introduced Premium Droplets to support the growing needs of businesses with faster performance and the flexibility to choose underlying hardware for their workloads. We’re thrilled to announce that Premium AMD Droplets are now available in NYC1, SGP1, AMS3, BLR1, LON1, and TOR1. With this release, we now support both Premium Intel and AMD Droplets in all our regions.

I don't see Google Pay in my backend. I do meet their requirement. Not sure if the RBI nonsense is blocking credit card payments through Gpay on DO. Anyone here with DO account check and confirm if they can see Gpay at their end.

DigitalOcean bought two companies - Cloud backup Snapshooter in January this year and Cloud Control panel Cloudways in August last year. And then raised prices for both services. Also, removed Vultr and Linode as hosting options from Cloudways.

To kick freelancers, they shut down their write for DO program. They also bought CSS-Tricks in March 2022 and closed its writing program as well. Both these programs used to offer freelancers $300-600 easy per tutorial.

And if that's not enough, they fired a lot of staff citing not enough profits (which was false) during 2022-2023. They also shut down their community Tutorials program which used to be the best in business - because everyone on that team has been fired.

Everyone is taking inspiration from Musk on how to be the most hated CEO. DO's CEO took the post in 2019 so it all figures.
