Digital Ocean - is it reliable for production VPS needs?

Can DigitalOcean be trusted for production-quality VPS when there are established (but more costly) players like Rackspace and Linode and Amazon EC2?
Has anyone here used it?
Abnormally low prices made me suspicious about trusting them for long-term needs.
