Friends, i want to know the meaning of "Single User" & "Multi User" Plans in DataOne Broadband Business Plans.Does "Multi-User" plan means i can access & connect to internet using my UserName & Passwd from any other DataOne Modem apart from where is was installed?Can anyone access & use my UserName & Password from any other DataOne Connection (provided S/he knows)?please explain these.expecting a quick reply.

There is no "single user and "Multiuser plan in BSNL.
They define only HOME and Business plans.

You cannot connect BB using your ID and password from any other telephone connection. ( In dialup it is possible)
No. He/She cannot connect except from your own telephone line.
Exception : You can check the account( usage) of anyone having BB of BSNL
by entering their ID and password, only through BSNL connection.
Post script : Another thread started about using someone else's acct ( free or otherwise ) here.
I offered my ID and Password to another gentleman a month or two back here and there was no response who also claimed he is using somebody's else acct.
The ID and password entered in your modem is critical. ( some MAC address also. )
If you change it , does not automatically change the password at the server's side. sometimes.
My friend had a big problem with his own password , when he changed the modem, and finally after three days BSNL corrected the problem. I tried my modem, tried his modem in my house, changed the modem etc.
Nothing worked. Only BSNL could reset the old password for the broadband connection. ( with no apologies).I also tried my ID and password in his TF BB connection and his ID in my TF but no go.
Usage acct can be checked ( tried) and email acct( ( not tried). I got the clue about password problem only after checking his usage in my computer.
This is the Position in Chennai. In Bihar etc I cannot say !

"multi-user" account means that Dataone can be shared within the premises of the installation . it is for business plans only .Dataone home plans are meant for single user only . that is internet connection should not be shared (officially) ... accessing dataone broadband from other's dataone enabledcomputer depends on port binding at the BSNL exchange .
