Pre-Snowden times - Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Justice, is in charge of manoeuvering a new European law for efficient data protection and privacy through the legislative process.The law will not only affect all the European citizens but the whole economy that relies more and more on data as a major resource for bigger profits. The European Parliament appoints 30-year-old German net politics and civil rights specialist Jan Philip Albrecht as chief negotiator. The battle can begin.
