Dell slashed prices of its inspiron and XPS series.
Inspiron 1420 starts from 35900/-,
Inspiron 1520 - 38,900
Inspiron 1720 - 59,900 (C2D 7500, Vista H.P, 17" widescreen, 2GB/250GB,NVIDIA 8600 GT 256 GDDR2 - my dream 🙂 )

XPS 1330 - 52,900
XPS 1530 - 49,900

The newly introduced vostro (business) series starts from 29,900 to 40,900 and the tablet PCs starts from 84,990
 
wow i hope Dell's prices remain low and it's not a temporary new year offer or anything like that...any idea by how much (percent) the prices have gone down?the lcd monitor prices were recently dropped by about 20% if i recall the old prices correctly...
 
I was tracking 1720 for last one month and the price fall was like Rs 65,069 -> Rs 63,650 -> Rs 59,900.
 
10% drop, not bad. although i read somewhere they are now charging all sorts of new taxes like CVD, ABC, XYZ blah blah and that brings the price back up... not checked/confirmed this myself tho
 
doh just got an email response for the Dell 24 inch lcd quotation: rs. 25k after tax when the price on the site is rs 19k, that's almost 30% now! but its still a 20% drop from a few weeks ago...
 

@leomax: the Dell "entry" 24 inch lcd was a newly added model and that too got a 20% price cut.i hope the model is still available (not "cleared") and the prices remain low in a few months time!i am thinking the price cut is partly due to the stronger rupee which means these imported stuff is cheaper now...
