DD's DTH service which was launched as a good platform for Pvt. FTA channels to reach every corner of country (and nearby countries) has finally turned into just entended terrestial like service with most of only DD's channels due to lack of marketing by Prasarbharti.
It also looks like newly launched channel are looking to it as a launchpad for creating space till it gets popular.
Only relief looks like DD planning to launch some movie channel by on DDD+, hope it works

The private channels should come forward to include their channels on dd dth,because it reaches every corner of the country. The private channel should not bother to pay 25 lakhs as a carriage fee.Because they can make more revenue if it is included on dd dth and become more popular.
 
Yup @25Lakhs; its cheap and if you wanna reach the Advt.masses that dont subscribe to pay channels the best bet would be DD DTH.Hopefully with the increased eyeballs,they will get popular and move to becoming paid.They get cheap publicity,and the DTH users get varied programming till such time as the channel is FTA.WIN-WIN situation
 
Also because of the political and cable operators pressure they are not including channels on dd dth.
 
According to the news of the link TV9 & ETV Marathi are present on DDD+, while actually this channels are removed long back ago. May be the news writer don't have latest information on DTH happening or by the time he was writing, the channel were present
