dc++ not working..plz hlp..i'm new to this...

hey guys help me ..i'm frm navi mumbai & trying a lot to configure ports so that my dc++ would work.. a frnd in a nearby building can use it, but i'm not able to connect to local hubs only some public hubs.. his ip is 10.40.x.x and mine is 10.12.x.x. can ne1 help me out??

You have a class A private IP (10.x).But you're visible to the outside world only by your public IP which is shared by a number of people.Since you aren't allotted a fully-fledged public IP, dc++ & quite a few more apps wont work properly.For more info about what I mean, use google.
