Cost of IDE to SATA converter

Hi,Any idea as to how much an IDE to SATA converter costs in INR? I do not have a SATA port on my old pc and I need to plug in a SATA hard disk. Will it work fast enough? Thanks.

got this for 20 Rs from Local shop . was available on ebay at that time for rs 80-90

IDE to SATA Converter is available between 150/- to 300/- depending from where you are purchasing. The speed will be equivalent to IDE standard only. You can purchase PCI to SATA/IDE card if you have spare PCI slot in motherboard.

For best speed you can connect PCIe to SATA card, which will give you SATA II standard data read/write speed. But It uses PCIe port and it is doubtful that you have PCIe slot in your motherboard (it even do not has SATA ports so your motherboard must be very old)
