Conversation with a wannabe cracker

So, this dude landed on my blog and posted a link to an exe file he claims would give you free internet access on sify broadband.

He also cared enough to mention that the file is not a virus so is harmless.


Sadly, the file turned out to be a keylogger...

I managed to talk to the guy and here is the conversation:

no need to confess 🙂 pretty much every kid (me too) who plays with computers tries his hand at "hacking", hence the term "script kiddie" hehe. it always used to be fun to play tricks on unknowing victims
 

hmm... always a bad idea to admit such a thing in public with your real name.considering my brother's marriage is become a possibility.. i might be required to clean my online image in the near future.that might result in me cleaning up 40% of blog posts!
 
when i was on sify ,i used to copy over some data of the local cafe wallah's pc to my comp then delete his drive for a couple of days and then paste it back.. got my kicks out of it,, also i once installed cain and abel.. got lots of yahoo, rediff , pop3 passwords, somebody's share trading login details etc from the sniffer....but i never even opened the mail accounts ,... just freaked out my friends by typing their passwords in front of them.
 
sushubh, can you please change the subject to "wannabe cracker"? A hacker is not a MALICIOUS person. This guy has malicious intent, so he should be called a cracker and NOT a hacker.
 
One of the fun things is to remove all icons from desktop and replace wallpaper with desktop's screenshot with all icons.

Did that many times in office to harass colleagues.............Its fun, people just come and restart thinking pc hanged or something.......:rofl:
