If STB can be connected to HD monitor then whats the need for HDTV.

Because-

1) I havent come across an LCD Monitor that is greater than 32 inches. Using a 40/42/46/47/55/60 inch TV as a dual monitor is a different thing.
2) LCD Monitors don't come with the panel that an LCD/LED has.
3) Have you ever seen an LCD Monitor connected to a 5.1/7.1 channel home theatre? I am not saying this cannot be done, but I have never seen or read about this.
4) LCD/LED tvs work in a standalone mode. Have you seen an LCD Monitor work in a stand alone mode?
5) Have you seen Composite / Component / DVI / HDMI / USB interfaces on a single LCD Monitor? Well, the LCD / LED TVs have them.
6) Last and perhaps the most important, LCD Monitors do not support resolution as high as an LCD TV for the same size. You get HD LCD Monitors in the market today, but they are damn expensive and can be bought only when you plan to multitask using them, i.e. TV Screen and Computer Monitor in one unit.

Your comments are welcome, I am sure I have missed some other vital points as well.
