I router modem has a in built dialer which works fine. but the problem is when ever modem is switched ON (after a power cut) it auto connects. which i dont want.I have heard win XP has a dialer for it but with that it dosnt connect.

You should put your modem in bridge mode. Then you can create a PPPoE connection on XP and give your user name and password there.
