comparison of Hathway cable singnal quality with DTH

as far i know the hathway provides signals in MPEG2 format (as written on the box ) while number of DTH operator provides mp4 signals (MP4 provides better quality in general )...
above all have you guys compared it with some DTH signal house having same TV (LED/LCD)
and i m talking plain SD signals no HD .
please share your views as i wished to get DTH solely coz of quality issues
