WordPress is trying to become a site development solution so folks like me who run it to manage basic 5-10 page websites are quite annoyed with recent updates.
ClassicPress is a fork that aims to cater to folks like me. Not sure how long it would survive. Not sure if all WordPress addons are going to work with it. But seems like an option.
