Chennai best Airtel Plan..?? Post Paid..??

Hi.. I will really appreciate if you can tell me how do I change my Airtel Post Paid plan.. which strips almost 700 INR just for rental and other things.. while I find Pre-paid are much cheaper...I am a moderate user.. and hence would like to reduce my billing from the present avg of INR 2000 every month.. I do a lot of SMS and have an old free SMS Plan.. would like to retain my no. too.Regards & Happy new year.
