Changed my DNS to Cloudflare and my internet connection was disrupted.

I had been using the Quad9 DNS (9.9.9.9). Yesterday, I changed it to Cloudflare(1.1.1.1) and after a few seconds, my internet connection was lost.

For dynamic IP , it shows 0.0.0.0 and connecting by ppoe too gave no results.

Have they blocked third party DNS? Even after unchecking the 'Set your own DNS' option, the issue persists. They said they will resolve it by today, but I wanted to know the possible reasons this happened and how to prevent it in the future.

I am using OpenDNS on ACT and Airtel since past one year without any issues. 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220
the network engineers while testing use 1.1.1.1 very often and there is a possibility that it is not being routed properly
what does your traceroute shows.. does it land to 1.1.1.1 properly.. following is output through Airtel.

Code:
root@pghome_pi4:~# traceroute 1.1.1.1
