1980, Algeria. Two women cross paths.
Maguit, a sixty-year-old French woman, lost her son Simon twenty years earlier, during the Algerian war. All these years later, she decides to go to Algeria to the place where he died to try to at last grieve - something she has not been able to do until then.
Aïcha lived in the douar where Simon was killed when she was a child.
She tells Maguit about the events that happened on that tragic day in 1960, when her douar was surrounded by French soldiers. The stories of these two women, who seem to have nothing in common, will intertwine, taking them back in time through the memories of "their wars." Through this history, the personal fates of anonymous men, caught up in the torments of wars that crush them, men whose plans continue to intermingle, are revealed.
