Is anyone getting CA on Airtel in Mumbai?
I am thinking of getting Poco M2 pro as my device is giving some issues. I was hoping that since the supports CA with Jio it would do the same with Airtel.
Any idea which band Airtel uses for CA in Mumbai apart from 40+40 intraband.
I am not a tech person so please apologies if I wrote technically incorrect.
This is the supported list as per spec sheet from Redmi Note 9 pro(m2 pro is rebranded note 9 pro)

Network & Connectivity

GSM:B2/3/5/8
WCDMA:B1/2/5/8
LTE FDD:B1/3/5/8
LTE TDD:B40/41(2535-2655MHz)
DLCA:40A+40A,1C,3C,40C,41C
ULCA:3C,40C,41C

Redmi, Xiaomi phones only support 40A-40A but they may have 3+40, but 3+8 is there don't know much about mumbai, and lately they are disabling CA except 40-40

in Mumbai 3+8 and 40+40 as of now. Some sites have 3CA also but very rare.Poco m2 pro will only support 40+40Ca no other combo. You can visit cacombos website to see the combos of poco m2 pro

They may have disabled it for now but they would re-enable it sometime later in the future, right?

@Tejas01 Future no one can predict.at present they have 40+40,3+8 and in some sites 3+8+40
with 4x4 mimo. But your phone will only support 40+40.also in case if they enable other combos in future then also your phone won,t support it.

If this news article is correct, they are saying airtel is not going to get any additional spectrum as they saying there is no need for it. They said they will buy some spectrum for capacity addition in few places, . Does this mean they won't be buying any spectrum in low frequency bands?. If that happens airtel network goes very down as its already worse atleast here in kerala, where they are running 4g on b3 5mhz and b40 20mhz and someplaces b1 10mhz also

I am assuming that they want to build up revenues for 5g auctions. As read about same issue from another source they mentioned they are very strong on revenues so they would like to continue with the same.

5G effect...
Now Airtel has also started CA on low end phones

Source

Though Signal and speeds are not as good as Jio.

@pothi yes an operator can enable or disable ca inorder to handle increasing customers

As for low ender phones getting ca, that's beacuse low end phones has only intra band ca support only which airtel doesn't have till the recent the spectrum acquisition. Now they can do intra band ca on band 40 20+10 mhz .
