cant open page in suse

hi, i recently migrated to linux from windows. i have a peculiar problem... the thing is I am trying to connect to a bsnl broadband connection, which requires an username and password. I get connected..upto this its fine. But if I try to open a page in the firefox, it is not able to open. I also tried to ping google but it says that 'network is unreachable. To me the problem is may be in setting up the name server, but what to set for the nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf? When I used windows, I left the DNS as automatically detect by the network. But linux is not detecting the nameserver even after connecting to the network.What 2 do in this case? Any solutions? I am using suse 11.1 :huh:
 
set nameserver to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 are you able to open Google
