Hi frenz..
as per many people's advise i connected my laptop through lan & desktop through USB. But when i dial & connect with my username & password on laptop ..i cant dial & connect at the same time on my pc. It says phone line is busy.
i have configured Tcp/Ip properties as "obtain Ip address automatically" in both pc & laptop.
Modem i use is "UT300R2U".
Also someone someone have told in another forum to go to http://192.168.1.1 & place my username & password there.
But in my modem settings in WAN i couldnt find any option where i can put my username & password.

so.. experts plz help me..

yes you have to place username and password in modem.. go to http://192.168.1.1 .. then click on advanced setup->WAN .. then next to VPI/VCI 0/35 click on edit.. then click on next.. then choose PPOE..and encapsulation modem llc/snap-bridging.. then click next .. then enter PPP username and password as the bsnl username and password you use to dial.. then click on NEXT and save/reboot

it means you are using bridge mode in which you have to dial & connect using windows & in bridge mode you can not connect more than 1 computer to modem simultaneously & that's why the "phone line busy"message.

you have to setup your connection setting in modem to use pppoe mode instead of bridge mode.when you do that modem will automatically gives you the screen in which you have to enter your bsnl username/password & when you click on connect for first time in modem it will connect & save your username/password.after that whenever you turn on the modem you will be connected as modem dials the connection for you using the saved username/password.
