There are two steps in using your modem in bridge mode:
1. Setting up XP to dial your service provider
-------------------------------------------------
Assuming you are using
Windows XP follow the steps as shown here(those given in \"Configuring Windows XP for PPPoE Dynamic DSL\" section):
http://public.pacbell.net/dsl/winxp/index.html#dynamic
but note that:
- in step 8, you can put any name, e.g. BSNL DataOne
- in step 9, user you BSNL username and password.
If you are not using XP, ask someone how accomplish the above for your version of Windows.
2. Configure your MT882 modem to be used in bridge mode
---------------------------------------------------------------
To do so, open your modem configuration page in a web browser. I think you have to go to the URL
http://192.168.1.1 (with your modem ON and connected to your computer). If you cannot go to this web page, list the output of \"ipconfig\" command in the command prompt.
Once in the configuration page, go to the WAN Settings, and in the ConnectionType, choose \"Pure Bridge\". Once this is done, go to Tools->System Setting and restart the modem by clicking on \"save and restart\".
After the previous two steps, you should be able to connect by clicking on the newly created BSNL connection (Step 1). You can create a short cut to this connection for all users for convenience.
Good Luck.

Hi..!
When i have tried Your Point no.1, i got an error message after the
dialer tried for a connection. The error message is "connecting
through wan miniport(pppoe)" and "error connecting to ....."
When i have tried your point no.2, in the WAN settings, i cant
see "Pure Bridge" option but "RFC2684Bridged". When i chose
this option, i was not connected to the internet.
Please help.
