BSNL Broadband
Hello,

I have BSNL broadband with Huawei Modem: Model WA-1003A and a Vonage Adapter Model: VDV21-VD. Currently I can browse internet 24/7 and can make calls as well. Now I want to enable the Huawei modem / router for WiFi. I started out by following the steps on calcuttatelephones.com (Quidway WA-1003A ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION), but stopped as I couldn't get pass the first step of getting to the modem settings page. I enter the Default Gateway address in IE and Firefox, but it dosent open. I have Windows Vista Home. Can anyone please advise as to how I should go about enabling WiFi on my system?

essbebe: For the present try WIfi connection for laptop. VPI/VCI 0 and 35 for bsnl.use opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222Present DNS entries click advanced and enter in WIns Next page. Or note it down . Not needed ( only as backup ). usually one VPI/VCI is selected. I am not sure whether you can have two settings for same VPI/VCI one " Bridged" and another "PPP/PPPoE mode. So you have to select PPP/PPPoE "Always On" and enter in modem your user Id ( without @ bsnl.in ) etc. see additional link with screen shots. given in thread. Whether you connect the modem or not your laptop will show connected >Show all wireless connections. You may see the anme you had given for your wifi and othewr secured/unsecured wifi connections , if in range.feedback.[/__________________________________________________________________I had tried it earlier with thoses DNS addresses. I also forgot to say the WiFi connection was formed AFTER I manually added my laptop's MAC address under Access list in modem settings. Also I had already made thoses settings that you mentined in last post.I need to find a way to make the DHCP Server and DNS Server different from each other as they are identical right now [192.168.1]If I change the Start IP in DHCP Configuration [Modem Settings] only the IP Adderess changes.I still cannot browse internet. Please advise.
