My Modem no. is 'UT-300R2U' which was supplied with MTNL broadband and now I switched to Airtel. I want to connect two PCs in different rooms simultaneously with to different modems... one 'UT-300R2U' and other one is beetel '110BX1'. Is it possible? or I need to purchase a hub or switch.Any help would be great!!!

your first question is can you use it,well definitely you can use any adsl modem for dsl connection your second question is no, only 1 modem per line, either you can use 1 modem for 1 pc or you would have to get a router which supports upto 4 pcs.Airtel will give you a router for rs.1000

UT300R2U already has 4 ports so can be used as a switch. For two PPPoE connection use "Service name/Access concentrator" option to differentiate Airtel line and MTNL line. MTNL access concentrators are mostly named as BRAS-XYZW where XYZW is four letter code of related exchange.

@san83
and now I switched to Airtel
Now your only ISP is Airtel

OPTION 1

In one room connect mtnl supplied modem + computer.
In another room take a parallel connection of the phone line
and connect Beetel 110BX1 and computer.
Only ONE computer can work with this set up.

OPTION 2:
UT300R2U has an USB port.
Use it for the computer nearest to the phone line.
From the LANport take RJ45 and connect to other computer.
Both computers can work at the same time.

Option 3:
Beetel110Bx1 does not have an USB PORT.
Ask Airtel to give you 220BX1 or still better 450BX wireless.

INFO:
I am not sure Ut300r2U has 4 lan ports. will confirm later.
NO. only LAN and USB PORT

Thanks a lot for the info. 😀

Even I'm getting Airtel within a couple of days. I think I'll go with Option 3. Is there any [modem + router] in Airtel which has 2 (or more) LAN ports? That way, I'll be able to use both the Computers at the same time using just one single router instead of setting up two different modems. I don't need wireless. 🙁

select 450BX. Has 4 lan ports and WIFI.
Unlikely they will supply 220Bx1 lan and USB
( frequent complaints because of USB port usage it seems )
There is no rental for any Airtel modem.
I think a security deposit refundable is taken.
:: Airtel :: Broadband Services - Tariffs - For You
Select Maharastra & GOA
Rs 800 non refundable deposit for Wireless.
Router not available.
modem 110BX1 not suitable to you.
Modem 220Bx1 not recommended.
