Can I use Airtel Broadband phone number for FAX send/receive purpose?

May I use Airtel Broadband phone number for FAX send/receive purpose? because we have Airtel Broadband telephone number is office and home.
 
Yes, why not. Your fax machine will provide T.38 signaling.
 
Yes, T.38 is Fax over IP, and I think all the ONTs used by airtel do support it. At least the Nokia does
 
I believe op is talking about the airtel rj11 port and landline number they give with ftth, right?

Any old traditional fax machine should work in that case.
 
That still requires ONT support for T.38, because it is using SIP for the landline. I know the Nokia ONT supports it because I have messed around with the firmware. I don't know about others.
 


I'm trying to say... If a normal landline or cordless phone works then why wouldn't a regular fax machine,?

What's the need for SIP or T.38 or whatever , it's just internal to the ont
