Hello,Where can I get a USB cable for connecting BSNL Broadband model AR800V V3.0 made by Fujian Star-net communications to laptop for power? There are several cables with me, but one end is shaped in a different way.ThanksRaj

Not recommended..
Called firewire to usb cable.
or use an adapter.
Firewire IEEE 1394 6Pin to USB Male Adapter Converter - YouTube
Firewire IEEE 1394 6Pin to USB Male Adapter Converter - YouTube
then normal usb to usb cable.
Modem/wifi router gets power supply from the power adapter ( (9V 1Amp or 12V 1 Amp usually ).
Rarely USB port is used for BB connection now
Computer USB Port Power supply usually 5V 1 Amp.

Better use ethernet (your modem has 4) or WiFi unless you have a specific reason to use USB port.

Thanks Essbebe.

Now why it is not recommended. The sole reason is to draw power from laptop when there is a power cut. I dont have a UPS.

Thanks
Raj

So I was under the impression that i can draw power using that USB port and also use the Wifi or Cat 5 cable like i am using now for internet. Thanks
