The hassle u face for every disconnection can be minimized if u do not use the winxp created dialler and use the managemant interface 192.168.1.1 of the modem and configure it to always on mode. Also get ur line checked by BSNL people.ways2gain, I think u r from kolkata. Me too, but do not face any disconnections at all !

HeyThanks for the info. You r rt I am from Kolkata. How does one create a winxp dialer - I think I am on that but not sure.Whats a 192.168.1.1 interface because thats what my LAN uses for my network, and also I think thats the nos used by my Wifi/Router.Line seems OK but Ill get it checked by BSNL chaps.

By default the modem has the IP 192.168.1.1 but you can change it from the modem's access page if it conflicts with any other device within your network.

ways2gain,i have already posted how to configure in one of ur other messages.u have decided to try it on office pcs.
