This is what I wrote to some of the email ID of BSNL officers which I found through Google search. However most of them got bounced and hence I am bringing this to the general publics attention.
Dear sirs
I do not know if this mail of mine also gets thrown into the cyber waste paper basket but let me try to bring to you my complaint and the general woes of your customers.
BSNL has tried to serve their customers but in my opinion have miserably failed. To begin with none of the email IDs of officers which is given in the web page work. Mails sent gets bounced giving the error "Mailbox full" signifying either there are so much complaints that your server is unable to handle them or the 'Inbox' is never opened. This lethargic and lackadaisical attitude is seen on the phone too. One never gets to speak to anybody important in the BSNL hierarchy. Firstly due to the non publishing of a phone book we do not know what is the correct number of those who are supposed to run BSNL and redress the grievances of their customers. OK, if somehow one gets the number and dials it goes on ringing at the other end and gets automatically cut off after 20 rings or so. I challenge some one to try to prove me wrong. Try any BSNL line connecting to an officer, it is never picked up at the other end.
Now coming to my current problem it so happens that I am a subscriber of BSNL Broadband (Dataone) connected to phone number (0422) XXXXX. At 7 PM of 29th June (Thursday) the internet connection suddenly got cut off. Thinking that it was a small glitch I tried again after one hour and did not get connected. I tried all known numbers like 12678, 1957 and the local number 2607000. No one was there at that time and phone goes on ringing. Next day I tried all these numbers constantly and except for 2607000 nobody answered. The JET informed that due to some cable (fiber) getting cut off all BB from Kovaipudur Exchange is off and it was expected to be restored soon.
From that time till Sunday (2nd July) 10 PM which is 75 Hours the line was not restored. Each time 12678 or the local telephone exchange gave wrong information that within one hour the line will be restored. The young man at 12678 smartly asks me for my email ID and Password as if that was the reason for the connection going off !!! He did not know about the cable fault and was at a loss to explain when I informed him about it.
I tried 2307000 from past two days after the line was restored to get a rebate for the period the internet was not working. This as you know works to Rs. 50/- However all my efforts failed since no one picks up the phone to talk to me when I ring it! Today 12678 is reported out of order and so was 2343100.
Is there any way to sensitize the officials at BSNL to attend to the complaint from customers? Is there a designated person to handle such matters with the condition that he picks up the phone when we dial the number? Is there a way to know whom to contact in BSNL in the absence of a Telephone directory?Could you employ some knowledgeable people in 12678 since my experience is that those manning the station are incompetent and far from professionals.
I seek your reply for my grievances (*that is if this mail reaches the correct sources). In case you are not dealing with this matter kindly forward same to concerned official.
Thanks & regards
