Bsnl modem LAN port is not working. What to do?

HelloI have a bsnl-provided modem (Sterlite SmartAX MT882) whose Lan port is not working. When i use it to connect it to the computer, it says Limited or no coonectivity (The modem works fine when connected with the Usb port)I now need the lan port to connect it to an external device (net phone) that uses Lan ports only. So should i replace the modem or can it be repaired? Are there any optons to connect the Usb port to the external Lan port ? Thank u & Have a nice day,Hemanth
 
check your modem dhcp is enabled or not ..or use static ip address (192.168.1.2, subnetmask 255.255.255.0 defaut gateay 192.168.1.1 dns server 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 ) in your computer.as limited or no connectivity can be due to not getting ip too.
 
1.Start/ Network/LAN/Properties 2.When the page opens see your ethernet card on top . 3.select configure.4.Follow instructions. Back to 1. 5. check status6. Try repair.7. give feedback. mention your ethernet card details.
