I am yet to come accross anyone who has rented modem. Those who tool advise from me have all purchsed modem from BSNL or outside on their own.The system runs equally well and fast on both types of modem ( purched thru BSNl and purchased thru market ).
 
I am renting the modem from BSNL , in preparation of surrendering it back in case they dont improve their packages hehe... or some better offer comes along from other ISPs... dont want to be stuck with an incompatible modem..yea i know i could sell it again to some other BSNL user, but i dont want that hassle 😎
