I am trying to port forward web traffic on this new Type II modem.

After a succesfull Internet connection and wireless support, I went to Advanced Settings>NAT. Setup "WebServer (HTTP)" From the drop down. and assign the server IP address 192.168.1.2
Then I get the following alert "Since port 80 is used, the DSL router, WEB server port will be moved to 8080."

However, after save and reboot, I expect to see the router to be accessed @ 192.168.1.1:8080. But it is still available on 192.168.1.1 and my http://externalIP also takes me to the router admin page.

my localhost, 192.168.1.2, or 127.0.0.1 goes properly to my web site.

Please help.

Presume you are trying to post a web server.
Have you tried DDNS under DNS menu ?
You should Use "Always On " PPPoE mode not "dialer"
The Under Advanced options
NAT
virtual server/
port triggering
DmZ
options will be available.

Test : Check your present Dynamic IP
type it in address bar.
A window may appear asking for ModemID/PW
to access the modem.

Included
Port forwarding for sl2_141. ( images may be missing will edit later. )

Thank you all. We had a major BSNL outage. So couldnot reply sooner. Like they mentioned, NAT works only when its coming from outside the router. To test, I used kproxy.com and it worked well.however, tata photon+ did not serve these pages. Do you think there is any malpractice here?

@Baba Fayaz.Repeat your requirement. see post no 2 and give response.
