Yep, why don't you try setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (these are google dns servers) in both your modem settings and OS settings and see if this redirection crap goes away...

Changed DNS. Let me see if this shit goes away. Problem with BSNL is that it has no father or mother to complain. Local guys are clueless and their higher officials are not picking up calls.

smartbytes redirections did not stop through non-bsnl dns. i assume bsnl's bandwidth purchase redirection is also not based on dns?

Yep, the FUP upgrade (aka smartbytes-like redirection) pages show up for me too even though I have set google dns. So dns might not help here, but worth a shot.

lol. what have we ever achieved with a campaign ever. and this is bsnl.

Anyone else witnessing automatic redirects to mail.bsnl.in site?. I use Google Chrome 43.0.2357.81 (64-bit). I don't have any scripts/ add-ons installed which might cause this. I use Ubuntu. So problem of virus is ruled out.

Idiots can't give stable internet connection. Above that, they throw ads. I don't pay monthly rentals to watch advt site while doing important things.
