Hi I am khush living in Sodepur Area in South Kolkata with exchange 2402.
The following r my attenuation rates and snr values.

SNR (Downstream) 13.0 dB
SNR (Upstream) 6.5 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 0.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 19.5 dB

Can any one tell is there any problem with the following values ? I am using Siemens C2110 modem and Bsnl Home 500 plan with 256 kbps - 2Mbps bandwidth
Also why is my Line Attenuation(Downstream) - 0.0 db ? Is this the cause of frequent disconnection in my line ?

Can any one tell what is the difference between attenuation upstream and downstream , and also snr upstream and downstream and what
should be their normal/average values.....
Plzzz Help me....

Get your line checked by the line man. Make sure that joints and non insulated parts are removed. This may give some idea

Are these average values applicable for upstream and downstream both ? I am having ADSL modem so downstream snr should be more than upstream right ?

hello guys Don't blame bsnl for that , i do have the same problem but the problem was with ethernet and phone cables , there end portion of jack got coating due to rusting and it turns a black . the problem to solve that cut the cable from that portion and crumb with new socket . that's all
