Bsnl Broad Band With Wifi

hi,i plan to take a BSNL broadband connection in kolkata with a type II modem( the one with wifi).what i need to know is that do i require a separate wifi router with this or the modem will only suffice. the other thing is that, do i need a wifi card/PCI/MCI card for my laptop. my lap is a compaq V2148 centrino.the guys at bsnl are extremely ignorant about any of this.also has any body had any experience in kolkata about this bsnl connection.thanks
 
^ if BSNL gives router with wifi card & if your
Laptop has wifi card then you do not need any
other router . i.e. your Laptop must have a wifi
card to receive wireless internet and the router
must have the wifi card to transmit the internet .
 
hi seshu, thanks for the helpany idea where do i get the wifi card. the bsnl chaps have no idea and there website or the promos do not make any mention of this. thanks again
 
^ Laptops generally consist of wifi card .Ensure that your Laptop has it . ( see itsmanual / contact the Dealer )if Local BSNL Exchange has MT841 router , ask for inbuilt wifi card .
