what is meant by bandwidth capping?

He means bandwidth throttling...reduction in speeds after certain download limit is breached...aka Sify...

I think they do this. Coz my connection was awfully slow. But once the clock turned 12:05am then I got my regular speeds back. There is something really mysterious about this...

Something strange is happening today, I've just been using Internet Download Manager and it totally turbo charges the BSNL speeds, I get 50 kb/s only on 256 kbps speed 🙂. Unfortunately though, the data transfer completely shuts down after like 15 minutes of downloading. So I think those frauds at BSNL are upto something like this, I think they're even trying to control our downloading in Nighttime Unlimited.

I get 50 kb/s only on 256 kbps speed[/b]

and you are calling them frauds?

@ Aditya13Sure u can call BSNL Frauds if u dont hav ur basics in Place (Lol u shud worship them for givin u that much download speed)Regarding ur line disconnects u need to check whether u hav installed splitter correctly , ur ADSL Sync rates and attenuation and all. Then Play the Blame game !!!Right Sushubh ?? B)

if airtel gives me speeds they promise, i had be more than happy. i get 60% of the promised speeds. they are reliable... sure. but when in the morning u get slower than dialup speeds occassionally, u would be more than unhappy. i still wont call them frauds. 😉

Sushubh ur so much into this...wat do u recommend ??Bsnl 990 or airtel 256 unlimited ???as both pricing is the same i am bit confused

wait for a month to get feedback on bsnl unlimited. that is what i would recommend.

yeh...i would wait...also i tested Bnnk @ my friends place ..upload goes maximum to 8kbps on a 256 wr as download goes from 28 - 33 kbpsis this not pathetic, airtel i heard i heard gives same 256 up & downis that true Sushubh
