BSNL and Dlink DI-624

Hi,I am trying to setup wirless connection in my house. i bought a Dliink Di-624 airplus extreme G wireless router. My BSNL modem is Smartax MT882. Now, I have a ethernet cord running from BSNL modem into the WAN of the router and another from LAN of the router into my laptop. I am unable to get internet on my laptop.I spoke to the D-Link rep and he said to bridge the BSNL modem. So I need to get into the modem settings. I tried 192.168.1.1 and no success, I cannot get into the modem settings to bridge it. ( note at this pont I am directly connected to the modem)Can anyone please guide me how to get my wireless up and runnning.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Please confirm , that you get connected
to Internet and surf.
MT882 lan port to laptop ethernet port.
If OK.
Click each question for answer in this web site.
DI-614+
Disconnecxt MT882 and connect D-Link unit.
Type 192.168.0.1 IN IE address bar etc.
Presume DI614 is ADSL MODEM + WIFi ROUTER.
