Bridge Mode Disconnections on MTNL Broadband

If your adsl light is constant, still you are unable to connect, better change ur modem to either D-Link or tkd-318. If U have taken router from MTNL on rent, yhey will replace it.

It's not a convention, my name is spelt like that 😛 )Second, thanks a ton, dude, for telling me ki duniya mein aur koi bhi hai jiske paas itni problems hain.Third, my number starts with 27.Fourth, I finally could reach 1504, mujhe bhi pehle 1/2 ghanta laga us stupid CC executive ko samjhane mein ki mujhe ye sab pata hai. I told him to check if it is a port specific problem, or if my password has been changed, or my conection has been blocked altogether. No help from there, he just registered a complaint, and forwarded it to the exchange.All the problems have been solved now. The earlier disconnections have vanished too 😀 🙂.Now only 2 problems are left.1) Speed - I'm getting a max of 26, earlier it used to be 31-32. Shubhendu to kuch sunta hi nahi hai ab.2) Bridge mode in Linux - Is there ANYONE on this forum, or in this world, who has successfully scheduled downloads in bridge mode on Linux, by using ANY means?

today thers seems to be some weird problem wid mtnl mumbai... connection disconnects anytime and doesnt connect for hrs.... mine got connected after 5 hrs... but its gettin disconnected every 4-5 min or so and then again reconnecting by itself.. m usin ppoe mode with g.dmt

naa tu samjyoe nahi !! it is using time sharing method it disconnect every few sec to facilitate entry of new ip hehe kidding!!Seems like Big Maintenance going on or Mtnl is calibrating how many ppls using FraudbandMay me some hole forgot or may have setted wrong values for auto ras disconection!

#make sure interface is down
#ifup doesnt start new session if connection exists
04 00 * * * /sbin/ifdown mtnl

#new session at 12:05 to be safe
05 00 * * * /sbin/ifup mtnl

#disconnect b4 time
55 07 * * * /sbin/ifdown mtnl

thats what i used when i had NU. its assumed that u have named connection interface as mtnl.

u can add download command in betn. accordingly. i used curl.
curl -LOC - http://server/file.path

see man curl

or u can call a script which will scan a text file which contains url to download per line and calls curl cmd as above for each line.

Yesterday was a annoying day - frequent disconnections, I had to use dialup connection :wall:, today the connection is much better.....
