Billion Modem+Router SNR is Variable ?

Hi Guys,
I have Billion Router + Modem and have problem with SNR value and Line Attenuation which keeps changing every second when I refresh modem page because of that I getting very low speed.

Sometime it shows 25 for Downstream
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 28.5 19.0 db
Line Attenuation : 16.5 10.5 db
Data Rate : 2048 512 kbps

After Refreshing the page I get this results

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 13.0 19.0 db
Line Attenuation : 16.5 10.5 db
Data Rate : 2048 512 kbps

I doubt it's my modem problem..

Please suggest what to do . Thanks in advance
 
Guys. Can I get some help of any suggestions ?
 
Try GDMT. Also SNR does not affect speed. Line speed selected does it also change ?
Check all connections for oxdization/rusting etc.Attn data constant anyway.

Hi blu.. now my BSNL connection is working.. thanks to u... but i am unable to open few sites... 1. I am not able to open some of the sites which are very important to me... my trading portal's login page not get open with this.. although when i Connect my TATA VSNL internet connection then it get open.2.. yahoo mail, rediffmail not get open...till this time i tried... MTU settings.... OpenDNS settings.....added sites in IE trusted sites list....enabled cookies..but everything gone into vein..Any Solution???Warlock
 
I'm not sure why those sites are not opening cos they're opening fine for me. Try them during the daytime cos it could be that the network is congested.. Have u tried another browser such as firefox? Also see if u can open them by proxy via hidemyass.com

it is a login page... also try nseindia.com..regarding congestion thing.... i want to tell u tht other sites get open at lighting speed..except these two

i have tried Firfox.. but i know idbi doesn't support tht... u can't login from firfox..although the home page gets open.

All sites opening fine In FF 3.0.1 Have you installed Java runtime ??
Go to filehippo.com and update .

Also try opendns 208.67.220.220. and 208.67.222.222 tried earlier.




thanks Essbebe.. i have Jre 1.5.06 version installed on my PC..but i loaded the latest version also.and restrted the PC after selecting it in ADVANCED option in IE...no change still the page not get open in IE as well as FF......

i have TataVSNL connection 64kbps...it takes few secs to load these pages..so i don't think there is anything wrong with Browser settings......it is BSNL which sucks...

Hi essbebe.... today my BSNL internet connection strts working..... each and every sites get open...... BSNL ppl told me tht this is problem with new connections... run only in Bridge Mode...no PPoE......make dialler at desktop and enjoy.......I have billion 5200s BiPac router and MTU setting is 0( 0 is defult in Billion)..life is back on trackwarlock

will check and confirm MTU is to be set to 0 !
new info to me.

MTU 0 means default value 1492 etc . It is NOT 0. ( also for MSS)
