Sunil Mittal’s Bharti has announced their plans to enter the “Internet Protocol TV” (IPTV) segment in India, which would see television content delivered through telephone lines! They have collaborated with tech giants UTStarcom for this ambitious venture, which should put them in a market with no players in the Indian broadband scenario.

Heh, is this ?Internet Protocol TV? (IPTV) the same as plain jane cable TV.Cept it's over a telephone line instead.Hmm, now that i think about it, no more dangling f-ugly cables strewn over the place..Oh wait...only if Airtel gets permission to dig.oN the other hand i cant wait to replace my cable tv operator, sometimes i lose signals and have to stare at static on the screen. Now if Airtel can manage to give me as good a TV experience as internet, i might be sold on this IPTV thing.

Im pretty disappointed after waiting for months airtel came to my place ,now they're telling they wont give standalone bb here,u have to take the phone with it ,so 128k ultd is like 660+250 (onsidering min phone rental) ,which is vsnl's tariff.
