I mean in regards to life ?Thanks in Advance !Update : Please let me know Model No. along with price 🙂

Hello, Room Size: 150sqft bedroom, I have recently purchased Samsung 1.5 Ton 2 STAR - for this bedroom, bedroom AC runs almost 18 hours a day, NOW I want to buy another for my living room 200 SqFt, Question: I am either thinking to buy a LG or Samsung, 5 STAR 1 TON for the same bedroom and move this 1.5 Ton to living room OR Buy another 1.5 TON 2 Star for living room. What is better in terms of power consumption for the bedroom - 1.5 Ton 2 Star or 1 Ton 5 Star PLEASE HELP ASAP !

5 star is anyday better in terms of power consumption. However it is surprising that considering your heavy usage, you went for a 2 star AC. You should have opted for atleast 4 star.

5 star is better but now how long the 1.5tonne compressor actually runs to cool that room? Like say 15minutes it runs and gets a break for 10minutes like that?

Basically.. in my 2nd smaller bedroom I have LG 1 Ton 2 Star, so this time around I wanted to test Samsung (since LG models were getting updated and there were no new models in January 2010) + this was a test 1.5 TON for living room which is used only for few hours max.So 1 small room (120SqFT) I have 1 TON LG 2 STAR, this bedroom I have now 1.5 as I said... So now >>So main Q is.. What is better for lower power consumption for 18 hours usage: 1 TON 5 STAR or 1.5 TON 2 Star. (since 1.5 ton 2 or 4 star or even 5 star does not have much difference in the WATTS consumed).5 STAR - 1 TON 1220 WATTS - O Current - 5.42 STAR - 1 TON 1320 WATTS - O Current - 5.85 STAR - 1.5 TON 1720 WATTS - O Current - 7.62 STAR - 1.5 TON 1940 WATTS - O Current - 8.2

5 STAR - 1 TON 1220 WATTS - O Current - 5.4
2 STAR - 1 TON 1320 WATTS - O Current - 5.8
5 STAR - 1.5 TON 1720 WATTS - O Current - 7.6
2 STAR - 1.5 TON 1940 WATTS - O Current - 8.2

1.5ton won't be running as long like 1 ton and it will cool the room much faster. 1 ton from Voltas is 990watts I think.

I asked about the actual compressor running time and how long it takes break before starting again in earlier post. If you put 1.5ton then it will start and stop much more than an 1 ton. Lot of electricity will get wasted this way. But the running time will be lesser than 1tonne one.

Exact opposite for 1 tonne one. Fewer breaks but longer running time.

Ok thank you ... but I would like if someone can answer that for me. - looking at the size of the room an expert should know
