Best portable wifi hotspot?

I have heard that tata and vodafone have potable wifi hotspots what enable devices like tablets and laptops to connect and use the internet. I have a tata photon usb dongle and i like it. but I would prefer wifi as i will be able to access the web wirelessly on the go. Can u guys suggest something like this?

Which city do you live in? Also, are you looking for a mifi kind of thing or do you want to connect your photon dongle to a wifi router?

I live in thane. And i have no clue what mifi is. But I want something that is battery powered. Something that I can carry with me and use, even if I don't have a power socket nearby.

Mifi, just a name for a battery powered 3G router. Now, it won't work with photon. How much data do you need per month?

Buy an MTNL sim, check connection quality and if its alright, recharge with the unlimited plan. Else, rcom with multiple recharges in a month, not worth the money IMO.
