It seems like a lot of MTNL users using MTNL's DNS servers ( as opposed to public DNS servers like Google's or OpenDNS etc. ) are unable to access many sites hosted by us.
Now there is nothing wrong with our DNS configuration as Google's DNS or OpenDNS resolves all our sites just fine.
1. We would like some help from MTNL users on this forum to verify that
a) If you are able to access/not able to e2enetworks.com, pluggd.in, tarundua.net etc. sites ( please paste nslookup/dig outputs if possible )
b) If you are using MTNL's DNS servers or some other Public DNS servers like that of Google or OpenDNS ( this would tell us if MTNL has routing issues as well ).
2. If anyone has interacted with senior technology/customer care folks at MTNL, people who might know what a DNS server is and why it is important for their subscribers to provide error free operation. Any best contacts would help our cause of 'Bringing back Hosting to India'
3. We at E2E Networks would like to convince the MTNL to either fix their DNS servers or atleast them stop them from trying to run their own and just push the default DNS servers from some other free public DNS provider like Google ( not OpenDNS as they break the DNS by redirecting people to their search server IPs)
4. We are requesting help from broadband community and especially MTNL users to create pressure on MTNL by calling them up to fix their DNS servers or replace the defaults to something that works.
5. We are able and willing to provide them with technical assistance to the extent that we can manage their DNS servers for free or provide them with free public DNS servers for use of their broadband users.
