Most definitely a dumb question -- what could be achieved by getting a shell on ISP ONT?

update: the newer f670l has different order of pins, its vcc, tx, rx and gnd from bottom up from my last pic.
i see boot process, can stop autoboot and i am limited to some uboot commands but if boot is not interrupted, it proceeds to boot completely.

upon hitting enter key, it asks for login and password but unfortunatley whatever combination i tried from the internet resulted in failure.

so if anyone knows a way to retrieve the pass or has gained access to it via uart, please share your knowledge.
