Attaching DSL 502 T modem to a router

Hi guys,just wondering if the DSL 502 T modem's routing function can be disabled so that when i connect it to a wireless router, the wireless device acts as the router and the D-Link functions just as a plain modem ?On the other hand, can the wireless router be used merely as an access point with routing diabled and the dlink modem connected to it functioning as the router ?There are posts in this forum regarding glitches in the firmware of 502T. Can anybody suggest a better modem or a better model from dlink itself for use with Triband.
