I am using bsnl broadband which provides dynamic ip address. Now what is the use of assigning a static ip internally..? Really cant understand the very use of it since the ISP provides dynamic ip.
I didn't understand what you are trying to say.The dynamic IP that BSNL assigns is a WAN IP (117.195.xxx.xxx)/(59.xxx.xxx.xxx)The static IP you are talking about is the LAN IP (192.168.xxx.xxx)Are you getting confused between WAN IP and LAN IP ?
The connection to your modem is wireless or wired?Where is the static IP configured ( in the modem OR in the network settings of your PC) ?What is the make model of your modem ?
When UT300R2U modem is in PPPoE mode ( userid/PW stored in WAN page)
Select DynamicIP or PPPoE in your wireless routerDlink DI 524.
see this page DI-524
